Why HDPE?

HDPE IS LIFETIME PIPE

Poly pipe is high density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) that is durable, continuous, flexible, and possesses an extremely low lifetime maintenance cost. With fusion welding, there are no glue joints to fail. Because of its comparative flexibility and thick wall, it is frequently buried without joint reinforcements (thrust blocks) or bedding material. With its UV resistance, black HDPE is also utilized on top of the ground for years without degrading. And for smaller diameters (3” and down) it can often be installed through direct burial in miles per day. Simply put, for a broad range of uses, HDPE is the most durable, versatile, and cost-effective pipe material in the world.

HDPE is found world-wide in diverse applications, including:

*Replacement of aging municipal water and sewer infrastructure

*Marine dredging

*Mining water transfer

*Oil & gas transfer

*Landfill off-gassing

*Fertilizer manufacturing & storage

*Agriculture – including row crops, irrigation pivots, undergrounding earthen and concrete ditches, and rangeland stockwater systems (approved for NRCS EQIP).

*Slurry/sludge transfer, including sand mining

*Domestic drinking water

*Domestic & municipal fire suppression systems

HDPE possesses many remarkable qualities, including:

  • Resistant to cracking, corrosion, sediment buildup, and freezing

  • Estimated lifespan of at least 50-100 years

  • Pressure rated up to 500 psi

  • UV resistant for above-ground applications

  • Available up to 6” diameter on continuous reels, 48” diameter in 40 and 50 foot sticks

  • Reusable and recyclable, with a thriving second-hand market for used HDPE

  • Leak-free heat fused fittings – no glue joints

  • Broad range of fitting options available

Our HDPE pipe is made in America and surpasses other materials by almost every measure. It is available to match any specific inspection requirement, and is approved by numerous major engineering and certification bodies – including NSF and AWWA.
